Siloam Urban Garden and Orchard Project

September 2021

We are excited and pleased to make two announcements!

First, the Siloam Urban Roots Garden is on track to produce 3,000 pounds of fresh, healthy and nutritious food this year. All of this food was donated to agencies serving local families. This also included our own ELUCO Food Cupboard.

Second, the Garden Orchard and Food Forest Fundraiser has reached and exceeded its Goal of $2500. In fact the total amount raised was $3200. The extra amount will allow us to stake and wrap the trunks of the new trees when they are planted.

We want to thank everyone who donated to help purchase 50 Fruit Trees and fruit bearing bushes for the orchard. Your support for this wonderful Outreach project is very, very much appreciated.

NEXT STEPS
When we approached the nurseries in August to purchase the trees, we discovered the variety of plant stock suitable for our orchard was no longer available. Therefore our plan is to wait until April to purchase and plant the fruit trees and bushes. We know the variety of plant stock we need will be available and the timing will be perfect for transplanting.

Thank you all again for your support of the Orchard and Fruit Forest Project.
