Shared Youth and Young Adult Ministry

Siloam United Church is part of a unique partnership with Metropolitan United Church and First-St. Andrew’s United Church to provide meaningful programming for teens and young adults. Social gatherings provide a safe space for young people to connect with one another, create community, explore big life questions, and have fun!

Events include a Youth Coffee House in partnership with LUSO Community services, trivia nights, pub gatherings (for young adults), church sleepovers, pizza parties, outreach opportunities, and fun activities like mini golf and escape rooms.

For more information about our Shared Youth and Young Adult Ministry, contact Marilyn Arthur at [email protected] or Facebook.

Music

Siloam United Church is proud of the music legacy that has grown and developed throughout the years. Our Choir features up to 30 voices and performs each Sunday morning, as music is an important part of worship.

Siloam also boasts a 3 octave hand bell choir, the Siloam Sounds, who often perform during worship and for special events such as concerts and even weddings.

We provide a varied music program at Siloam. If you would like to join our Choir or the Siloam Sounds, or have a particular talent you would like to share, please contact us at the church office at 519-455-9201 or [email protected].

ELUCO (East London United Church Outreach)

East London United Church Outreach (ELUCO) is a United Church ministry that advocates for and supports people to build community in the midst of challenging circumstances. This ministry primarily serves the Marconi community of south-east London but also includes the ELUCO Food Cupboard at Gethsemane Gardens and the Welcome Wednesday Hospitality Lunch program in the Huron East corridor of north-east London.

Urban Roots Garden

Siloam United Church in conjunction with Urban Roots London has cultivated several acres of vacant land at the back of the property.

Since 2021 we have produced 2000-3000 pounds of fresh food per year. In addition to growing vegetables, our mini-farm includes a fruit orchard and fruit-bearing bushes. It also provides employment for students the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

Urban Roots donates at least 33% of this food to local charitable organizations, and sells 33% directly to individuals in the community at affordable rates (50% of market value).

Love gardening or eager to learn? We are looking for volunteers to help with this growing project!

LIRSA (London Interfaith Refugee Sponsorship Alliance)

Siloam supported LIRSA financially and continues to offer non-financial support through the time and energy of volunteers who help refugee families cope with day-to-day living.

Every second, refugees somewhere in the world are fleeing from their homes and cities seeking safety.  Their plight is hard for many of us to imagine.  They leave because of fear or famine, but always with hope.
